Day 7- Oia Rest Day!
Awake again at about 7.30 am and back to the coffee shop for a cappuccino!!!
What a great start to the day…enjoying the view without the “noise” of the Trump shenanigans and politics is very good for the mind I have found!
After coffee and breakfast we had a relaxing time reading books ahead of going on a walk … yes up 130+ steps to the main alley then more steps up and down through the town.
My guess is that each day we are probably climbing over 800 steps… we both agree that holidays in Santorini are for young fit people and that the only reason we are ok is because we are reasonably fit. My observation is that most of the tourists here are in the age range 30-50 all with plenty of money and well dressed!
On our “walk “ we stopped for a shared Greek salad and a drink ( me a spritz and Robyn a cosmopolitan) at a cafe. By chance we found a restaurant recommended by Chris and Neat called Ambrosia and booked it for dinner!
Returning to the apartment we relaxed on our balcony enjoying the view of the harbour and reading books…
After a G+T we made our way back to Ambrosia for dinner…. More steps to climb but worth the views! The restaurant was spectacular with the food, wines and the view! There was a bit of a muck up with the table as we asked for a spot with a view… our waiter was terrific and gave us the best table in the restaurant!
We had a lovely Greek tart with mushrooms to share… I had Greek lamb chops and Robyn had duck which were both excellent!
The walk back to the apartment was pleasant with virtually no crowds and in the cool of the evening…
…. Another lovely day!
