Today was another early start up at 6.00am.
As I had a room to myself last night it was good to take my time to shower and pack ahead of the ride.
We arranged to have breakfast at a local cafe called Fiore in the centre of town and the bacon and eggs for breakfast was just the thing to get a great start for the ride.
The day started cooler but warmed up nicely as it wore on. By the end of the day it was in the mid twenties with virtually no breeze…. Lovely for riding.
The ride out of Shepparton was ok until we reached a section of the Yellow Tail trial which was much like the shocker we had on the way in to the town yesterday! A bit of route planning got us back on more acceptable surfaces…. Thank god!
The first stop for morning tea was at Toolamba which was a lovely small town. There was no bakery or cafe so we “ boiled the Billy “ again and enjoyed a lovely break.
After coffee it was on To Murchison for lunch. The riding was on good roads mostly bitumen and through irrigation country. The amount of irrigation infrastructure in this region is quite staggering and the result seems to be a thriving cropping and orchard industry. It just hope there is sufficient labour to pick the fruit!
Lunch at Murchison was on the banks of the Goulburn River with a sandwich and drink from the local bakery
Mike had a problem with a slow leak on his front tyre which he sorted out over lunch.
After lunch I took my turn to drive to Nagambie.i had a few phone calls to sort out with the pending sale of one of the family properties!!!
The road trip for the last 20 kms was again through lovely irrigation country with viticulture starting to become evident as we approached Nagambie.
The team arrived at the Nagambie bakery for a celebratory coffee or drink at about 2.30 pm which was great timing for 70+ km day of riding.
Tonight we are staying at the Centretown Motel which is quite comfortable. It brought back memories of another ride we had in 2015 where we went through Nagambie on a ride from Euroa to Melbourne… we stayed the same motel and had dinner at the Royal Mail hotel, where we ate probably having dinner tonight! Some things never change!!!
The motel it seems has kept up its own good condition over the years and as I said is very good indeed!
Today was another great day in our special state of Victoria.
Today’s ride for me was shorter with the driving duties after lunch
The pictures today are as follows:
Breakfast at Fiore’s
The Goulburn River at Shepparton
Morning tea at Toolamba
The bikes have a rest at Murchison but Mike works on His flat tyre!
A water stop on the road into Nagambie… surprisingly few potholes!
Out motel tonight… brings back memories of 2015!
Today’s ride for me!
