Day 34 & 35- Travel Home

The day started in the Seychelles which was warm and cloudy… the surf was up outside our hotel room!

After breakfast we packed our bags with a spare bag to take our cloy for the day given the plane trip to Dubai was leaving at around midnight from the Seychelles airport!!!

The day was spent resting and enjoying the last day ….

It was largely uneventful with us having lunch and dinner before taking the cab back to the airport.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the airport lounge ahead of the 4 hour flight to Dubai. Chris, Neat and the kids were in economy whilst we were in Business Class. Unfortunately the Emirates plane was very old which was a bit disappointing but I managed to get some sleep.

We arrived in Dubai in the early morning… about 6.00 am and said goodbye to Chris, Neat and the kids as they were to stay in Dubai for a few days ahead of travelling to Hong Kong then home.

Sad to say goodbye after being with them for the past week!

We enjoyed the business class lounge ahead of boarding the plane for the trip home…. 14 hours!!!

The trip home was ok and I had some sleep after watching some movies…

We arrived at about 6.15 am in Melbourne and it was chaos with plane flights coming in from everywhere and the border checkpoints were crazy. It seems that having technology helping the border guards is more inefficient than ever when there are multiple planes landing in Melbourne at the same time!

Anyway it was great to be home but the weather was really cold!!! After temperatures in the 30’s for most of the holidays it was a real struggle to adjust to Melbourne’s weather!

On reflection the holiday of about 5 weeks was great and for me the highlight was our time in Madrid!
