Day 12- At the Golden Beach

Yes you guessed it up at about 7.30 am and on the deck outside our apartments with a coffee at 8.00 am!

The day was warm again with a lighter breeze. Temps at about 27 most of the day and evening.

After breakfast we made our way to the Golden Beach where we manuto find a could spare lounge chairs… the cost of a could of chairs plus an umbrella is €50 for the day! Ours was zero…. But without an umbrella.

The day was spent on the beach reading and watching the action on the water. There was a lot going on with windsurfing and para sailing…. The skills to do windsurfing are quite impressive really and I spent some time watching a bloke a little younger than me trying to get up … he must have been trying for about 2 hours that I saw ! I admired his enthusiasm and persistence.

We had lunch at the Golden Beach tavern which was very popular…. Vast contrast to the evening…. See later!

The afternoon went by and we made our way back to the apartment at about 4.00 pm.

After freshening up and having a glass of wine we made our way back to the same taverna where we had lunch…. The meal was ok but we both thought it was better over lunch…. Robyn had a cocktail which had a smoking cinnamon stick…. Quite impressive really!!!

My dinner main was mousaka which was great… must admit I have enjoyed this every time I have had this in Greece.

After dinner we made the walk back to our apartment in Dryos in the dark. The walk took about 20 minutes but was in the dark…. Fortunately there was some lights along the pathway!

Arrived back at the apartment at around 9.00 pm … we tried a shot of a Greek spirit that was provided by the hotel which was like a sweeter version of Ouzo… ok but one shot was enough for me!

We were in bed by 9.30 pm ….
