Day 30 - In the Seychelles
It is hard to believe that we have been away from home 30 days!!!
This morning I woke at about 8.00 am after a good night night of sleep… the weather was good so I went for a swim ahead of breakfast.
We had again to do a tour to Victoria to see the big tortoises in the botanical gardens. So at about 10.00 am we were piked up by our taxi driver… grumpy Joe … who transported us to the botanical gardens…
The weather was quite hot and we walked to the enclosure where there were about 30 larger tortoises!! Magnificent to see and it seems they have long lives with ages around 250 years! Quite incredible.
After this we had a walk around the botanical gardens which were ok at the best!!! Seems they need to do a bit of upkeep to make them a real tourist attraction.
We walked to the centre of Victoria which is the capital of the Seychelles to meet our taxi driver… grumpy Joe!
The ride back to the hotel along the coast was good and we stopped at a nearby beach to buy a couple of boogie boards for the grandchildren… the beach was magnificent with white sand!
After arriving back at the hotel we relaxed in shade from the hot sun and humidity!!
At sunset we adjourned to the balcony to watch the sunset and enjoy a a glass of wine and beer!
After sunset we cleaned up for dinner which was a creole bbq which was at best okay!
We went to bed again around 9.30 pm
Another great day!
See below for the picture of the giant tortoises!!!
